Sunrisers All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy of Hyderabad lost his temper after being sent off during Thursday’s IPL 2025 match against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Having lost his wicket to Ravi Bishnoi, the young player, who was hoping to lead his team’s innings, was clearly upset as he walked back to the pavilion, tossing his helmet in dismay.
When SRH lost early wickets, the right-handed batsman stepped in to bat under pressure. It was up to the 21-year-old to bat long into the innings since the majority of the senior batters were back in the bench. He misjudged a googly from Bishnoi in the fifteenth over, though, which ended his time at the crease.
Nitish Kumar Reddy tried to hit the leg spinner’s tossed-up delivery on the middle stump—the opening ball of the over—down the ground.
But the ball smashed into his middle stump as he misjudged the googly entirely. Nitish was seen walking back to the pavilion, taking off his helmet and discarding it, clearly disappointed by his poor decision. Adding two boundaries to his innings, he scored 32 runs off of 28 balls.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant called it right at the toss and chose to field first to start the game earlier. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma were both removed in quick succession by Shardul Thakur in the third over. The innings was then stabilised by Nitish and Travis Head, who added 61 runs for the third wicket before Head was out for 47. Heinrich Klaasen was eventually ran out for 26 after he and Klaasen enjoyed a 34-run partnership.
SRH scored 190/9 thanks to late appearances from captain Pat Cummins (18 off 4) and Aniket Verma (26 off 13). The host team found it difficult to reach the high total that Hyderabad’s batting track demanded. The best bowler was Shardul, who took four wickets, although the other bowlers from LSG also contributed one wicket apiece.
“I believe that all of these things occur in cricket. I had a poor day in the auction because no franchise selected me. Due to their bowlers’ ailments, LSG was the first to approach me, thus it was always a possibility. In the presence of Zaheer Khan, I had to accept it. Cricket requires you to experience such things, such as ups and downs. For me, winning is crucial in the game.
I don’t check the column for runs or wickets. Making an impression and delivering a game-winning performance are my goals. Our strategy against SRH was to have the bowlers take a heavy swing at the hitters since they are coming at them hard. On level fields, they have been scoring a lot of goals. “At first, it fell in our pockets,” Thakur told the broadcasters following his stay.
