Yesterday, April 25, Sunrisers Hyderabad won their third game of the competition and maintained their hopes of making the playoffs by defeating the Chennai Super Kings in Chepauk by five wickets. With six points from nine games, SRH is now ranked eighth in the standings, ahead of CSK at ten and the Rajasthan Royals at nine.
After the match, SRH all-rounder and India international Nitish Kumar Reddy told the media that the team had what it takes to duplicate the 2024 season’s feat of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who won six straight games to earn a spot in the playoffs.
SRH would have 16 points overall and be a heavy favourite to finish in the top four if they win all five of their remaining games.
“It went rather well, and we thought for the team.
It’s match by match, and I’m happy that we prevailed in this one and, hopefully, the next ones,” Nitish Kumar Reddy remarked.
“RCB faced the identical scenario last year and won seven straight games. This year, why not us? The all-rounder, who was born in Andhra Pradesh, continued, “It is giving it its all, and the rest we will see.”
On May 2, in Ahmedabad, SRH will play the Gujarat Titans.
