On Friday, May 2, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans will play at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Several important players have been out of form, which has caused the Orange Army to struggle in the IPL 2025. Nitish Kumar Reddy, an all-around seam bowler, is one of them.
One of the team’s up-and-coming players from the previous season, the 21-year-old cricketer from Visakhapatnam also made an impression on the international scene. Reddy, though, has had a lacklustre season thus far. Although he has received some social media criticism for his appearance, there is also another widely shared video of his father, Mutyala Reddy, working out in a gym.
However, since Mutyala was spotted sporting a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jersey, the fans’ attention has been drawn to the gym attire rather than the workout. Because of this, some internet users are now doubting the Reddy family’s allegiance to SRH, the team that gave Nitish the break and kept him on board for INR 6 crore before the 2025 season.

A comparison between Nitish Reddy 2024 and 2025 performance
Last year, Nitish Reddy had an outstanding season, bowling some useful overs and scoring some important runs. During his 13 games, he averaged 33.66 runs per game and had a strike rate of 142.92, scoring 303 runs. In addition, he claimed three wickets and was named the year’s best rising player.
However, the all-rounder has been a disappointment this season, scoring just 152 runs at an average of 21.71 and a strike rate of 113.43 in the nine games played thus far. It’s also shocking that he hasn’t bowled a single delivery this year.
