In Basseterre on Friday, Bangladesh lost the final game of their ICC Women’s Championship series against the West Indies, guaranteeing New Zealand a direct entry to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
In the 10-team event, which saw all sides play eight three-match series, four at home and four away, New Zealand finished ahead of Bangladesh on the basis of having more wins (nine to eight). This guaranteed New Zealand a straight spot.

India came in a close second with 37 points, while Australia won the championship with 39. In addition, South Africa (25) and Sri Lanka (22) have guaranteed straight tickets to the World Cup, as have England (32).
The two other highest rated teams as of October 31, 2024, Scotland and Thailand, will join Bangladesh (ranked 21), West Indies (18), Pakistan (17), and Ireland (ranked 8) in the Cricket World Cup qualifier.
