There were many hot moments during Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka’s Match 38 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which took place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Players from both teams were seen shoving one another. After an appeal from Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan, Angelo Mathews was given a strange timed-out dismissal in the first innings of the thrilling match, marking the first time in the history of international cricket.
After dismissing the Bangladesh captain in the 32nd over, the Sri Lankan all-rounder gave him a proper send-off later in the second innings. The southpaw earned a leading edge on the opening delivery of the over after failing to read Mathews’ slower ball. Shakib’s innings was ended as the ball traveled through the air and was caught by Charith Asalanka at short mid-off.
Mathews dismissed Shakib Al Hasan and motioned for the Bangladeshi captain to “time over” by pointing to his wrist.
