The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced its 15-member roster for the next ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which will be held from September 30 to November 2. Fatima Sana, an all-rounder, has been named captain, with Muneeba Ali Siddiqui serving as vice captain.
Pakistan secured their participation in the Women’s World Cup by going undefeated in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in April. Under Fatima’s leadership, the squad overcame major challengers such as West Indies and Bangladesh, finishing first in the standings.
The roster includes Eyman Fatima, an uncapped right-handed batter who made her T20I debut against Ireland and performed well in Pakistan’s local T20 competition. Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Syeda Aroob Shah will also make their first ODI World Cup outings.
Notably, Eyman and Sadaf have been drafted into the squad in place of Gull Feroza and Najiha Alvi, who are now part of the five-member reserve list that also includes Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar. Diana Baig, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz, and Nashra Sundhu are set to add balance to the team, ensuring the younger players have mentors on and off the field. With Fatima Sana leading the side for the first time in a global event, Pakistan will hope to change its fortunes.
The squad will also feature in a three-match ODI series against South Africa in Lahore from 16 to 22 September. Before that, a 14-day training camp will be held starting 29 August, focusing on fitness, match simulation, and building team combinations under head coach Muhammad Wasim.
Pakistan will play all their group-stage matches at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. They begin their campaign on 2 October against Bangladesh before facing arch-rivals India on 5 October. Other matches include clashes against Australia (8 Oct), England (15 Oct), New Zealand (18 Oct), South Africa (21 Oct), and Sri Lanka (24 Oct). If Pakistan advances, the semifinal (29 Oct) and final (2 Nov) will also take place in Colombo.
