The New Zealand cricket team will go to Pakistan on Thursday, April 14, and stay there until early May. During this tour, the two teams will play each other in five Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) and five One-Day Internationals (ODI). Notably, the tour makes up for the fact that New Zealand called off the 2021 series in the middle of it because of security worries.
On April 14, 15, and 17, the first three Twenty20 Internationals will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. On the other hand, the last two games will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on April 20 and April 24, respectively.
Pakistan will have a new team, but key players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who bats and keeps wickets, will be back. Shadab Khan, who can do everything, will be Babar’s right-hand man. Notably, they just lost a T20I series to Afghanistan in the UAE last month, which was very embarrassing.
New Zealand, on the other hand, just won a T20I series against Sri Lanka on Saturday, April 8. They won the three-match series 2-1. Tom Latham is the captain of a potent team called the Black Caps. Daryl Mitchell, Adam Milne, and others are on the team.
The last time Pakistan and New Zealand played a T20 match against each other was in November, in the semi-finals of the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Pakistan beat New Zealand by 7 runs.
