In their IPL 2025 match on Wednesday, April 02, Mohammed Siraj led Gujarat Titans (GT) to a resounding eight-wicket victory thanks to an outstanding effort against his old team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). In addition to destroying RCB’s top order, his game-winning 3/19 spell earned him Player of the Match honours.
The pacer’s vital part in the team’s victory was highlighted by GT assistant coach Parthiv Patel, who was full of praise for him.
Siraj was the third-highest wicket-taker for RCB for seven years before to joining the Titans in 2025. But before the huge auction, the Bengaluru-based team chose to let him go. Siraj’s return to play against his former side was eagerly anticipated, and he delivered one of his best performances under duress.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup final, Patel famously reenacted Siraj’s famous statement for Jasprit Bumrah: “It was important to bowl that last 19th over well.” You did a fantastic job on that one. In a video that GT shared on social media, he stated, “Well done. I only believe in match-winner Mohammed Siraj.”

Among the victims of the pacer was Devdutt Padikkal, who was removed with a savage blow that shook the stumps. He then took another wicket from Phil Salt. In the middle overs, the fiery pacer persisted in his assault. By getting rid of the dangerous Liam Livingstone, he concluded his spell and made sure the RCB could only score 169/8 in 20 overs.
The former cricketer for India was unreserved in his admiration of Siraj after the game. He talked about Siraj’s ball-handling abilities in the dressing room, especially in the early overs and towards the end.
“Ashu Pa,” the head coach Ashish Nehra, talked about attacking from the ball and outnumbering. You did just that. You took the lead. The former Gujarat wicketkeeper-batter continued, “Excellent first over and then followed it up well.”
