After the wicketkeeper-batter fell for another cheap score while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants against the Punjab Kings in Match 13 of the 2025 Indian Premier League, an old interview of Rishabh Pant has been doing the rounds. During the just finished match at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, April 1, LSG’s captain left for 2 (5).
During the powerplay of the IPL 2025 match, Rishabh Pant was removed for two (5), continuing his lacklustre play against the Punjab-based team.
Pant’s slender batting run during the current season continued with this dismissal. After being removed for a six-ball duck in the first match of the competition, he went on to score 15 runs at a rate of 15 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In the meantime, Pant’s comments from the November mega auction, in which he openly expressed his concern that PBKS might buy him, were included in the unearthed film. After that, there was a compilation of his dismissals against the same opposition in the prestigious T20 competition over the years. The franchise did not pass up the opportunity to make a sneaky jab at the LSG captain after the game.

Pant has had quite an underwhelming string of performances against PBKS all throughout his IPL tenure. In 14 innings against PBKS, the 27-year-old has scored only 200 runs at a miserly strike rate of 119.04. His highest score in the IPL against the Punjab-based franchise is only 39. Notaby, he became the most expensive player of the IPL after being secured at a price of INR 27 crore.
