The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 saw Punjab Kings (PBKS) host Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mullanpur in the 18th game. The aim for the home team was set at 206. Early on, PBKS had trouble and was unable to overcome the pressure that the RR bowlers were putting on them. Glenn Maxwell and Nehal Wadhera put up a valiant fight, but they were 50 runs short of the goal.
But on the last ball of the game, something out of the ordinary happened.
It looked like there might not be a ball because RR only had three fielders within the circle on the off-side and none on the leg-side.
The umpires were alerted to it by Riyan Parag. But after a long check, the umpires decided it was legal. It took so long for the umpire to make a ruling that Sanju Samson chose to sit cross-legged on the pitch.
However, the outcome had no bearing on the outcome, as RR won the match handily, ultimately earning two points and moving up to seventh place in the standings.

Jofra Archer’s blazing spell allowed RR to post a fantastic total that was well out of the PBKS’s grasp. Two Punjab batsmen were removed by the right-arm bowler in the opening over of play.
Even though Glenn Maxwell and Nehal Wadhera put up a valiant effort in the middle overs, adding 88 runs off of 52 balls, PBKS was unable to stay pace. The remainder of the bowling team contributed, but Jofra Archer’s outstanding burst of 3 for 25 earned him Player of the Match.
On Tuesday, April 8, PBKS will play Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at home, while RR will play Gujarat Titans (GT) at Ahmedabad on Wednesday, April 9.
