In IPL 2025, Punjab Kings appear to have found their rhythm again, winning both of their games without even playing at home. The season’s first home game for PBKS will be their third match against the Rajasthan Royals. The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will host five of PBKS’s home games, with the remaining two taking place in Dharamsala, same like in 2024.
With RR coming in second from last, PBKS is comfortably atop the points standings. In their last game, both sides did record victories. In contrast to LSG, PBKS had an easy time. As much as Nicholas Pooran could, Punjab’s bowlers collapsed in a powerplay. But as a second collapse threatened, Abdul Samad and Ayush Badoni gave the LSG total some legitimacy. With the help of Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer, PBKS easily defeated the target banking on fifties. Both wickets were taken by Digvesh Rathi, while Nehal Wadhera also contributed some well-timed hits.
RR defeated CSK in their most recent match in Guwahati. While Nitish Rana attacked the bowlers throughout the powerplay, the other batsmen were unable to keep up with him. Wanindu Hasaranga caused a breakdown in the middle order, while Jofra Archer pushed RR ahead in the chase with economical powerplay overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad persevered, but his termination made the agreement final. MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja continued the chase to the very last over, but RR won by a margin of just six runs.

Key Player Battles in PBKS vs RR, Match 18 of IPL 2025:
1. Sanju Samson vs Arshdeep Singh
After spending three matches as Impact Player, RR’s full-time skipper Sanju Samson will return in his original role. And he will relish the opportunity to go up against India’s highest T20I wicket-taker. So far, Samson has made 72 runs in 39 balls while being dismissed just once at a strike rate of 184.61.
2. Shreyas Iyer vs Wanindu Hasaranga
Iyer is counted amongst the best players of spin in the world, but the only time he came across Wanindu Hasaranga in the IPL, the leggie had the last laugh. In that contest, Iyer scored just 1 run in 3 balls at a strike rate of 33.33 and fell to the Sri Lankan.
