Corbin Bosch has been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for failing to play in the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. Before the tournament had started, the South African cricket player had already withdrawn and joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) to play in the Indian Premier League.
Notably, prior to agreeing to a deal with the Mumbai Indians as an injured substitute for Lizaad Williams, Bosch had not obtained any no-objection certificates (NOCs) from his PSL team, Peshawar Zalmi. The all-rounder will therefore not be able to participate in the PSL 2026 as the Pakistani board has now banned him for a period of twelve months.
“The all-rounder will serve a one-year ban and will not be eligible for selection in next year’s Pakistan Super League,” the board said in a statement.
I sincerely regret my choice: Corbin Bosch
Bosch apologised to PCB for exiting the competition in such a way shortly after PCB’s decision was made public. In the PSL, he played for the Peshawar Zalmi. In addition to the ban, he will face additional sanctions. In his statement, the athlete made reference to it, stating that he “accepts the consequences.”
“I sincerely apologise to the people of Pakistan, Peshawar Zalmi supporters, and the larger cricket community for my decision to leave the Pakistan Super League (PSL).” I completely realise the disappointment my actions have caused, as the PSL is a prominent tournament. “I sincerely apologise for disappointing the devoted Peshawar Zalmi supporters,” the MI cricket player replied.
“I accept full responsibility for my acts and all associated repercussions, including a penalty fine and a one-year PSL suspension. It has been a difficult lesson, but I’m determined to grow from it and hope to rejoin the PSL in the future with fresh zeal and the support of the supporters,” he continued.
