Zaka Ashraf, the PCB’s (Pakistan Cricket Board) chairman, has recently been the subject of numerous controversies. The 71-year-old recently made headlines for calling India a “enemy nation” and using the term “dushman mulk.”
After the Pakistani cricketers landed in India for the ODI World Cup 2023, the chairman has since reversed his position and praised the country’s hospitality. According to Zaka Ashraf, the players’ outstanding reception in India was evidence of the mutual respect both nations have for the game.
“The incredible welcome the Pakistani team had in India for the World Cup demonstrates how much the citizens of the two nations care about each other’s athletes. The reception held at the airport in Hyderabad was proof of this devotion. I applaud the Indians for organizing such a reception, Ashraf said in a statement made public by the PCB.
Traditional rivals India and Pakistan are revealed, yet they are not enemies: Zaka Ashraf
Additionally, Ashraf discussed the occasions when Pakistan and India used the same field to battle against one another. He suggested that both teams enter the field as rivals rather than foes and hoped that the Indian fans will treat both teams the same throughout the competition.
When India and Pakistan play cricket together, they do it as historic rivals rather than as foes. Zaka Ashraf remarked, “I hope Pakistan cricketers will experience the same warmth during the entire World Cup and Indian fans would get to see the best cricket from Pakistan.
On Friday, October 6, Pakistan’s World Cup 2023 campaign will get underway against the Netherlands. At Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, both teams will command attention. Pakistan will be hoping for a stronger showing at the World Cup 2023 after their difficult campaign at the Asia Cup 2023, where the team was eliminated from the Super Four round.
