In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 2, Mohammed Siraj dismissed the dangerous Phil Salt right away after he was struck for a 105-meter six.
In Gujarat’s most recent match against the Mumbai Indians, former RCB player Siraj was instrumental in eliminating openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. When Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first against his old IPL team on Wednesday, he carried on in the same manner, producing some outstanding balls with the new ball.
Jos Buttler spilt a regulation catch behind the stumps, denying Siraj the opportunity to dismiss Salt in the first over itself. Devdutt Padikkal, who had charged down the pitch but had failed to connect, was cleaned up by the Hyderabad speedster in the third over. Then, in the fifth over, Siraj had an opportunity to run Salt out off his own bowling, but he failed to hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end.
After moving down the track, Salt hit a short-of-length ball over mid-wicket a couple of deliveries later. The ball travelled a maximum of 105 meters over the roof. On the very following delivery, though, Siraj gave a commendable response. Salt danced down the track once again, but he lost to someone who was faster. With a speed of 144 kph, the ball quickly smashed the stumps and passed the hitter.

When the middle order looks to rebuild, RCB is in trouble.
The RCB is in trouble after losing four wickets for 42 runs in the opening seven overs. It will be the responsibility of Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone to establish a collaboration and create opportunities for players like Tim David and Krunal Pandya, who have the potential to make a huge impact at the end.
