“Taking on this new chapter with Legends League Cricket feels like the ideal progression after my retirement,” said Shikhar Dhawan, expressing his sentiments about joining the league. Cricket is an integral part of my identity and will always be with me, even though I’m comfortable with my decision. My body is still conditioned for the demands of the game. I can’t wait to get back again with my cricketing buddies and keep entertaining my fans while we make new memories.”
Over his career, Shikhar has amassed over 6,793 runs at an excellent average of 44.1 in One Day Internationals (ODIs), 27.92 in Twenty20 Internationals, and a strike rate of 91.35. He was also named Player of the Tournament in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. His legacy as a cricketing icon has been cemented by his contributions to the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Indian cricket team. Over the course of his ten-year career, he participated in 269 games and amassed 10, 867 runs at an average of 40.
“We are thrilled to have Shikhar Dhawan join us,” said Legends League Cricket co-founder Raman Raheja in a statement welcoming Dhawan to the league.
Fans will certainly be entertained and the sport will surely be improved by his skill and flare. We’re excited to watch him play with other cricket greats. This will strengthen our standing as the famous cricketers’ second innings.”
