The Indian Premier League (IPL) games are set to start an hour earlier than the Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixtures. In a podcast, PSL CEO Salman Naseer announced that the games will begin at 8:30 PM IST, whilst the IPL begins at 7:30 PM IST.
Since the beginning, there has never been any conflict between the two leagues. In Rawalpindi, the PSL will begin on Friday, April 11. According to Naseer, they are certain that the competition will have a sizable fan base and that the schedule conflict won’t really affect anything.
The league is in its ninth season, and Naseer disclosed that numerous new features will be introduced to the competition to improve its calibre. Additionally, he discussed the advantages of holding the competition concurrently with the IPL.
As a result, some of the top international players who were unsold in the IPL were acquired by the teams.
“Although the circumstances are not perfect, we are certain that the PSL has its own following and will draw the typical attention.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer stated, “The PSL has consistently produced high-quality competitive cricket, and we should see the same this year. At the end of the day, cricket fans everywhere just want to see competitive, entertaining matches.”
This coming PSL season could be intriguing due to the friendship between several franchise members as well as the fact that it will conflict with the IPL. This resulted in a major problem throughout the previous season. After the event, though, it was handled by the PCB. Speaking about that, he suggested that instead of going public, the franchise members should talk to the management.
“Look, we would assume that over the years, every franchise has profited from their affiliation with the PSL. However, we also believe that it would be preferable if they spoke with us directly about any concerns they may have rather than going public,” Salman Naseer continued.
