The 2025 IPL season’s 30th game between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is currently in progress in Lucknow. Both sides are playing tough cricket while keeping a careful eye on the ratio of runs to wickets.
Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni, two LSG batsmen, were at the crease in the fourteenth over, which Ravindra Jadeja bowled.
The right-handed Badoni received a faster, broader ball from Jadeja on the fourth ball of the over. In an attempt to play a big shot, the hitter left the crease but failed. Reacting swiftly, veteran custodian MS Dhoni gathered the ball cleanly and swiftly ripped out the bails.
Due to uncertainty, the on-field umpire sent the call to the television umpire. According to the replays, the CSK captain caught the ball just behind the stumps. The wicketkeeper’s gloves were not in front of the stumps, so the third umpire looked closely at the angle. Although the side-on view indicated that the gloves might have been just in line, the TV umpire’s ultimate decision declared the stumping to be lawful.

Ayush Badoni, who had before displayed some beautiful strokes, lost his wicket this time because to a risk that did not pay off. Following the ruling, the left-handed bowler joyfully celebrated the breakthrough and even enjoyed a playful high-five with the umpire.
CSK is in dire need of a win as they are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table after five losses. On the other hand, LSG is riding high and is aiming to keep their fourth-place ranking in the 2025 IPL points standings with another victory.
