The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially stated that Ravichandran Ashwin, who had to leave the Rajkot Test against England midway through due to a family emergency, will be joining the squad on the fourth morning.
On Day 2 of the third Test match between India and England in Rajkot, Ashwin got his 500th wicket in the process of dismissing Zak Crawley. The off-spinner for Tamil Nadu attended the news conference at the conclusion of Day 2 before departing for personal reasons.
Although R Ashwin was absent from all of the action on Day 3, the seasoned veteran is anticipated to return to the squad around lunch on Day 4.
Speaking to the host broadcaster prior to play on the fourth day, Kuldeep Yadav stated, “I think Ash bhai might be coming back.”
