In the closing minutes of the fifth T20I, Indian spinner Radha Yadav made a superb catch to eliminate Amy Jones, with England needing only five runs from three balls. Despite her brilliant performance, England held their nerve to win by five wickets. India, on the other hand, won the five-match series 3-2, their first ever T20I series victory away from England.
Arundhati Reddy produced a length delivery in the 20th over, prompting Jones to attempt a slog sweep.
Radha Yadav, who was stationed at deep midwicket, rushed forward and made an incredible low catch.
Despite the fact that the ball temporarily sprang out and one of her hands lost control, she completed the dismissal with a solid hold on her right hand.
The third umpire looked over the catch numerous times before calling it out. Arundhati took the second wicket of the over, temporarily tightening India’s hold on the match. Jones left after scoring 10 off 12 balls.

Earlier in the contest, India scored 167 for 7 in 20 overs. Shafali Verma, the opener, excelled with a scorching 75 off 41 balls, including 14 boundaries. Richa Ghosh scored a fast 24 off 16, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled to provide much support. England’s Charlie Dean was the standout of the bowlers, taking three wickets in four overs, while Sophie Ecclestone took two.
In a nail-biting finish at Edgbaston in Birmingham, England chased 168 runs and crossed the line with the last ball. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge anchored the innings with a strong 56 off 37 deliveries. Sophia Dunkley, who scored 46 off 30, and skipper Tammy Beaumont, who scored 30 off 20, provided valuable support. Paige Scholfield and Ecclestone maintained their composure in the final moments to secure victory.
Deepti Sharma and Arundhati Reddy both took two wickets for India, and Radha’s fielding performance was outstanding.
Despite the loss in the final, India celebrated a historic achievement by winning their first T20I series on English soil. Charlotte Dean was selected Player of the Match, and Shree Charani won Player of the Series.
Both teams will now concentrate on the three-match ODI series, with the first game slated for Wednesday, July 16, at The Rose Bowl in Southampton.
