A recent development suggested that there is a schism between the Rajasthan Royals’ administration, as head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Sanju Samson were reportedly at odds. However, Dravid has come forward to state that he is still friendly with Samson, the skipper, and that the rumours being spread by the media are utterly false and unfounded.
Remarkably, the rumours broke soon after RR’s defeat against the Delhi Capitals in the tie at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which the visitors lost by Super Over. But because the head coach has denied the rumours, it’s safe to presume that everything is as usual in the former champions’ locker room. During a post-match media event, Dravid, who has previously captained the Royals, stated as much.
The media is claiming that Rahul Dravid, the coach, and Captain Sanju Samson are at odds. Would you mind responding to this? One of the guests enquired.
“I have no idea the source of these reports. As a matter of fact, we agree. A significant portion of the decision-making is done by Sanju, with whom I get along well. He is an extremely important member of the team. He participates in every conversation and choice we make. Naturally, you receive criticism when games are lost and things don’t go as planned, but you’re glad to stand up for the team,” Dravid said.
It is something we can consider that you are not doing well or functioning well. Results can be favourable or unfavourable depending on the situation. He went on to say, “We must take what we can from that, move on, and never stop looking to the future.

At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan will now play the Lucknow Super Giants in Match No. 36 of the IPL 2025 on Saturday. Rajasthan would need to win the night match to make a strong return to the current competition, and Samson & Co. would not want to make the same mistakes they did against the top-seeded LSG.
