Rajat Patidar’s act of looking at the IPL (Indian Premier League) trophy has RCB fans concerned about the outcome of the IPL 2025 final. Ahead of the major encounter between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings in the 18th season of the league, social media was buzzing with claims that the RCB captain made a mistake by ‘pulling off a Rohit Sharma’.
The reference was to the Indian ODI skipper’s gesture of staring at the ODI World Cup 2023 trophy before the tournament’s final against Australia on November 19, 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Coincidentally, RCB’s match versus PBKS takes place at the same stadium where India fell to Australia in the final.
Rajat Patidar, on the other hand, was unconcerned about the supporters’ superstitions because he understood what people expected while coaching a team like RCB. The top athlete maintained that he was concentrating on things under his control and attempting to stay in the present.

Winning for Virat and his fans would be really important. Rajat Patidar
“Virat has made so many contributions over the years that victory would be extremely meaningful, particularly for him and the fans. Expectations are inevitable, especially when you’re leading a club like RCB to a final, but I always focus on what I can control and try to stay in the moment,” Patidar stated at a news conference before the IPL 2025 final.
The RCB captain discussed his career as captain, claiming that being around some of the best leaders has influenced his attitude. He claimed to have developed a focused and comfortable dressing room environment for both domestic and international players.
“This captaincy adventure has been a fantastic learning opportunity for me; being among some of the top leaders and international players in the game has greatly influenced my attitude. I’ve worked hard to create a comfortable and secure environment in which both domestic and international players can feel confidence. We’re not thinking too much about the platform; we’re here to play our best cricket,” Patidar said.
