The two-time world champion MS Dhoni, who may have retired from international cricket but will still play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, is one of the cricketing world’s biggest stars.
MS Dhoni withdrawal from franchise cricket and his potential post-competitive future are topics of much discussion. Present BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla is among many who have expressed their thoughts on Dhoni’s future. He has openly discussed his thoughts on the former Indian cricket player’s bright future in politics with BeerBiceps on YouTube.
“I believe MS Dhoni has the potential to become a politician; it is up to him whether or not he chooses to do so.
I’ve always thought Sourav would get involved in Bengali politics. Dhoni is capable of being a successful politician. Since he is well-liked, he will win easily. It is entirely up to him whether or not he decides to enter politics.
Additionally, Shukla mentioned a chat he had with the former three-time ICC Trophy-winning captain of India, during which he learnt that the 43-year-old great was running for the Lok Sabha election. Dhoni refuted this, and he also described his tendency to avoid publicity.
When I told him that I had heard he was planning to run for a Lok Sabha seat, he responded, “No, no, no.” His natural tendency is to remain concealed; he doesn’t even carry a cell phone. Since he had no cell phone with him and it is in his propensity to avoid attention, it was even difficult for the BCCI selectors to approach him. He doesn’t live alone. He takes everything seriously; it’s not light-hearted,” he continued.
In 264 games with CSK, Dhoni has amassed 5243 runs at an average of 39.12 and a strike rate of 137.53. He will be playing for CSK for the eighteenth time this season and is the team’s second-highest run scorer.
