Rashid Khan, the Gujarat Titans’ (GT) spin guru, praised Shubman Gill’s leadership during the current IPL 2025. Gill has been outstanding this season with his batting strategy, even if he lost his last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 10 runs. He struck 10 boundaries and three sixes while scoring 90 runs off 55 balls after struggling to score runs early in the innings.
With a first-inning total of 198 runs, GT defeated the Kolkata-based team by 39 runs. Remarkably, with six victories in eight games, the Gujarat-based team is currently leading the points table and is the team closest to making the playoffs.
The right-handed batter’s ability to maintain composure on the pitch and his ability to control the squad, the bowlers and the atmosphere were commended by Rashid Khan. The Afghanistan player claims that Shubman possesses every trait that makes a great leader.
In addition to being a great hitter, Shubman has a very promising future as a leader because of the way he thinks and interprets the game. He has a strategy in place. His calm demeanour and his ability to oversee the squad, bowlers and environment on the pitch make me believe he possesses all the traits of a great leader. The strain he faces as captain of such a major league is, in my opinion, considerably greater than it was during the World Cup. Rashid stated on JioHotstar that this is his finest chance as a captain to perform well under duress and make audacious choices.

Rashid Khan also discussed his experience playing in the IPL with the Gujarat Titans (GT). He has been with the Gujarat-based team for three years, and during that time, he has made significant contributions with the bat and the ball, helping them win the title in 2022.
“The players and coaching staff have been incredibly welcoming to me since I joined this team. After five years, I never felt as though I had played for a different team. I began to like the game much more at that point as the family vibe developed. Even with the bat, my performance improved and I was given more chances. It’s crucial that there be open communication and some responsibility when working as a team,” Rashid continued.
