Former India head coach Ravi Shastri was recently asked about the incomes of some of the country’s greatest cricketers, and his response astounded everyone. While cricket is not a really global sport, many players have clearly become worldwide superstars.
Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Sachin Tendulkar are among the most well-known and successful cricketers to emerge from India. These icons have amassed enormous fortune, not only from their on-field accomplishments, but also from lucrative brand endorsements.
Michael Vaughan, the former England captain, questioned Ravi Shastri, “What kind of numbers do these superstars in India earn?”
“They earn a lot. Shastri remarked on the Stick To Cricket Podcast that endorsements would bring in a lot of money, possibly up to 100 crores.
When he was asked, “Which is how much?”
“Well, which would say 10 million. Yeah Ten Million Pounds. I’d just calculate one hundred rupees as one pound. So you work backwards and you can get upwards of that because,” Shastri added.
“WOW!” 🤯

Shastri also admitted that top performers like Dhoni, Kohli, and Tendulkar should have done more advertising during their primes, but their hectic schedules frequently left little opportunity for further obligations.
“Someone like MS, Virat, or Sachin and their pomp. They would run over 15-20 advertisements. And that is per day. There’s no time. You could easily do more because of the amount of cricket being played. So you know they’ll run an ad for a year and give us one day,” Shastri concluded.
In the current Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, England are comfortably ahead of the game at stumps on Day 2 of the fourth Test in Manchester. The openers, Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, pushed the hosts through the deficit, reducing it to 133 runs.
They put together a 166-run partnership for the first wicket and took control of the game inside a few sessions. Earlier, India scored 358 runs, with half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Rishabh Pant. England captain Ben Stokes picked up a fifer after eight years to strengthen his hold over the visitors.
