The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the players who will represent India in the forthcoming white-ball series and the first two Test matches of the four-match series against Australia. Ravindra Jadeja, who had been absent from the India squad for more than four months, was one of the names on the list that stood out in particular.
The selection committee decided to include Ravindra Jadeja in the team for the first two Test matches against Australia; however, the BCCI stated in the announcement that his inclusion in the squad is contingent on him being physically able to participate.
On Sunday, Ravindra Jadeja published a post that she wrote from the heart on one of her social media accounts. He posted a picture of himself wearing his Indian Test jersey online and tagged it with the following: “We have missed you. But soon.”
Since the Twenty20 International match against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup on August 31, Jadeja has not participated in any other form of competitive cricket, and his most recent first-class match was the rescheduled one-off Test that was played against England at Edgbaston in July of last year.
The star all-rounder was not present when India played England in the semi-final of the Twenty20 World Cup last year, which resulted in an embarrassing loss for India by 10 wickets to England.
According to reports, he would be participating in the Ranji Trophy match that concludes the group stage for Saurashtra. The 24th of January has been chosen as the day on which play will begin.
“It would be to Saurashtra’s advantage if he played for them. It’s likely that he will, but I don’t have any more information on the matter “Jaydev Shah, who is the head of the Saurashtra Cricket Association, told PTI.
As he nears the end of his rehabilitation at the NCA, reports indicate that Ravindra Jadeja has begun to bowl and bat since the beginning of this week.
The left-handed hitter is seen as an essential component of India’s batting order, particularly in the middle order at either position 5 or 6 in the absence of Rishabh Pant.
