India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the 2025 Champions Trophy final in Dubai on March 9 to win another ICC title. It was a team effort from Rohit Sharma and his teammates, who were under some pressure to chase a difficult goal of 252 on a slow surface that gave spinners plenty of support.
Both teams’ fielding was a little rusty, despite the contributions of both bowlers and hitters.
The two Indian players who made the most impressions were all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and captain Rohit Sharma.
Throughout the game, they maintained the energy and made some athletic efforts.
India’s fielding coach, T Dilip, also nominated the pair for the Best Fielder Medal. Jadeja was commended by Dilip for cutting the angles on the pitch and launching rocket tosses to the stumps, and he also explained how Rohit demonstrated dedication on the pitch.
In the end, the medal was given to Jadeja, who gladly accepted it and gave coach Dilip a hug. Additionally, the 36-year-old posed with his best fielder and winners’ medals.
