With the Champions Trophy in a few days, international cricket is already buzzing, and there will be a return to franchise cricket with the Indian Premier League following. With some of the world’s top players, this T20 league is sure to be another exciting one.
Some teams still haven’t chosen their team captain for the forthcoming event, even though the squads have been built. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is included in the group. After three seasons under Faf Du Plessis‘ leadership, the team was released and purchased by the Delhi Capitals at a high-profile auction. Because of this, both fans and experts are interested in who will be the franchise’s future leader. When asked who will captain the squad during an interview, RCB’s COO Rajesh Menon responded bluntly, noting that the team would have four to five leaders. Virat Kohli was also named.
“At this time, we have not made a decision. Our team is led by several people. There are five or six leaders present. The necessary actions have not been discussed. Menon stated in an interview with Sports Tak, “We will discuss and reach a decision.”
Rajesh Menon is pleased with the announcements.
RCB made some intriguing acquisitions during the big auction, including Josh Hazlewood, Jacob Bethel, Phil Salt, Devdutt Paddikal, Suyash Sharma, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The fans’ reactions to these acquisitions were divided, but Menon is happy with them.
“If you want to play at M Chinnaswamy (Stadium), we need a certain bowling assault. We were quite clear about the voids we have, what we need to fill, and what the Indian core is that we can develop. And we did that,” Menon stated.
As you can see, we had a low-key first day. At the end of Day 2, everyone—fans and experts alike—felt that we had done the best job since we had filled up all the gaps, and I believe we have one of the best teams. At the beginning, people believed we were not taking part in the auction, Menon continued.
