Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s match 65 in the current Indian Premier League has been moved from Bengaluru to Lucknow. The fixture’s timing will remain unchanged. At 7:30 p.m. (IST) on Friday, May 23, it will be performed.
The Bengaluru meteorological department’s yellow notice, which predicted “heavy to very heavy rainfall” until Thursday, May 22, triggered the last-minute modification. As a result, RCB will play their final two league matches—against SRH on May 23 and LSG on May 27—at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium.
This development was communicated to RCB late on Tuesday afternoon.
This occurred right before a scheduled optional training session. Since then, the team has avoided going outside because of the recent, nonstop rains that have soaked several areas of Bengaluru. There might have been issues for RCB’s hopes of placing in the top two if the venue adjustment hadn’t been arranged.
Mullanpur, Ahmedabad to host playoffs
In another significant update, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has finalised Mullanpur and Ahmedabad as the two venues for the playoffs of IPL 2025. Qualifier 1 (May 29) and the Eliminator (May 30) will be played at the Mullanpur Cricket Stadium. The Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium will play host to Qualifier 2 (June 1) and the final (June 3).
According to the original schedule prior to the temporary suspension of the tournament, Hyderabad and Kolkata were the two venues set to host the four playoff matches. As of May 20, Gujarat Titans, RCB, and Punjab Kings have gained sure-shot entry into the playoffs. Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will battle it out for the fourth slot.
