At the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the Delhi Capitals defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets in the twenty-fourth Indian Premier League 2025 match. In their 20 overs, Delhi’s bowlers put up a strong showing, holding RCB to a respectable 163/7.
After winning the toss, DC chose to bowl first. Before he was run out, Phil Salt‘s explosive 37 was the high point of RCB’s innings. Rajat Patidar (25 runs) and Virat Kohli (22 runs) both started but were unable to turn them into higher totals. Devdutt Padikkal went out for just one run, continuing his poor play. Tim David’s cameo of 37 runs off only 20 balls helped RCB to a respectable total, while Krunal Pandya added 18 runs.
The Delhi Capitals faced early setbacks as Faf du Plessis (2 runs) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (7 runs) both fell cheaply while chasing a goal of 164. They were quickly followed back to the pavilion by Abishek Porel (7 runs). KL Rahul, however, maintained his composure and scored an undefeated 93 runs off of 53 balls to win the match. Tristan Stubbs, who scored 38* runs off 23 balls and helped Delhi win easily with 2.1 overs remaining, provided him with strong support.
Although RCB’s notable spinners were Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/26) and Suyash Sharma (1/33) Delhi’s batting depth, particularly Rahul, ensured victory. With four victories from four games, the Delhi Capitals are undefeated and lead the league with eight points. After winning three of their five games, Royal Challengers Bangalore is in second place with six points.
