A major blow to cricket Australia came when Ashton Agar, 30, hurt himself lately. Ashton Agar was unable to play in the T20I series against South Africa in late August due to a calf tear he sustained while training with Western Australia during the preseason. After being excluded from the World Cup, Ashton Agar was replaced by star batsman Marnus Labuschagne.

His return date is still unknown at this time. “Given Ashton Agar is a nationally contracted player, WA Cricket will work closely with Cricket Australia to determine his return to play,” a statement from the WACA stated.
