In an interview with JioCinema’s daily program “#AAKASHVANI,” former Indian cricketer Reema Malhotra expressed the opinion that the Indian team’s fielding needs to improve if they are to defeat Australia in their upcoming Twenty20 International series.
On January 5, 7, and 9, the two teams will play three Twenty20 Internationals in Navi Mumbai. Notably, India emerged victorious from the one-off Test match but lost the next three ODI matches 0-3.
Some thoughts on enhancing their fielding
You have to defeat Australia in every one of the three categories if you hope to win. India’s bowling and batting had a minor glitch, but I think they can still make up for it because they have been performing brilliantly and just need to put in one more overachievement to win. However, fielding seems to be the primary issue; this team has made great strides in terms of conditioning. It is impossible for them to make the same errors again after witnessing them miss numerous receptions in a single game. Thus, I feel that all people need to do to get better is have faith in themselves.
About bowlers’ roles in Twenty20 Internationals
Since it’s a T20I, the bowlers are just as crucial to India as the hitters. In the two games against England, Shreyanka Patil demonstrated her abilities. Deepti Sharma is in incredible form and has been crafting her own story, so I don’t think you can keep her out of it. This time, she has engraved it in gold. I also think Pooja Vastrakar 2.0 should be mentioned because of her outstanding performance in the series. She will play a crucial role for the team in this T20I season. Additionally, all three of these guys are equally capable of using the bat. There is a lot of pressure on these three to do well in the bowling area.
