The latest ICC T20I rankings were revealed on Tuesday, as bowler Renuka Singh Thakur came in at number five, while Indian batter Smriti Mandhana moved up to number four. India’s vice-captain and opener, Ishwarya Mandhana, shot up to fourth place with 743 rating points after hitting a vital sixty against Sri Lanka in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final. Renuka, a bowler who claimed seven wickets in the tournament, has moved up four spots to take fifth place among bowlers with 722 rating points.
Renuka is ranked second in the rankings, after Sophie Ecclestone (772) of England and Sarah Glenn (760) of Australia. Third place goes to fellow countryman Deepti Sharma (755) and Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal (743), who has jumped one spot to fourth.
Radha Yadav was the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with six wickets. She moved up seven ranks and came in thirteenth.
Australia’s Beth Mooney (769) and Tahlia McGrath (762) continued to be the top two batters. The West Indies’ Hayley Matthews (746), placed third, while Laura Wolvaardt of South Africa came in sixth.
The skipper of Sri Lanka, Chamari Athapaththu, made the most gains, moving up three spots to sixth place with 705 points following her game-winning 61 against India in the Asia Cup final.
“Inspirational Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu also reached new heights as she moved up three places to sixth on the same list to bring up a career-best rating following her Player of the Tournament heroics at the Asia Cup that included a whopping 304 runs at an average north of 100,” according to the International Cricket Council.

After the Asia Cup, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana went up three spots to 14th on the T20I batters list, while Pakistan’s Muneeba Ali advanced six spots to 35th. Harshitha Samarawickrama of Sri Lanka finished 20th after leading the field with an undefeated 69 in the championship.
