In the opening over of India vs. Pakistan in the high-stakes women’s T20 World Cup 2024 match, Renuka Singh claimed the wicket of Gull Feroza. The Indian pacer produced five excellent deliveries before angling the ball for a flawless inswinger that removed Feroza from the game without adding to her total.
The ball filtered through the 25-year-old’s bat and pads and struck the wood because she was unable to read the line. After losing the opening match to New Zealand by an embarrassing 58 runs, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team needed to make a big impact right away.

In the first ten overs, Pakistan also lost the wickets of Omaima Sohail, Muneeba Ali, and Sidra Ameen. The batsman-keeper kept the scoreboard moving, but Muneeba was out for 17 runs off of 26 balls when Shreyanka Patil overcame her.
After ten overs, the Pakistani women were at 41/4 thanks to eight and three runs, respectively, from Sidra and Omaima.
Renuka Singh, Deepti Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, and Shreyanka all took one wicket apiece in the first ten overs bowling overs by the Indians.
During the toss, captain Harmanpreet announced that Pooja Vastrakar, who is currently sidelined due to an injury, will not be serving for the hosts.
India hopes to increase their net run rate (NRR) by finishing the game early. It suffered after losing to the White Ferns, but if they can keep up this level of play, they can get back into the running for a semi-final position. Above all, though, the team must defeat Pakistan in order to advance.

To put it mildly, the bowlers have been outstanding, but the fielding effort needs to be strengthened. During the first part of the innings, Richa Ghosh’s keeping was mediocre and Asha Sobhana failed to make a straightforward catch.
