Due to border tensions between India and Pakistan, the IPL 2025 was suspended for a week before starting again on Saturday, May 17.
The BCCI has not yet revealed the locations for the tournament’s playoffs, even though the locations of the final league games have already been determined.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is reportedly one of the locations that has been selected to host the tournament’s second qualifier and final. The weather forecast, however, may cause these plans to alter. It is anticipated that Ahmedabad will not see any rain in early June, while the board is currently keeping an eye on the likelihood of rain at the locations.
According to reports, Mumbai is still a possibility for Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, but it will depend on when the monsoon arrives. There has been a lot of rain in the economic capital in recent days, and the weather has stayed cloudy ever since. Instead of Mumbai, which is typically not impacted by rain during that time of year, the BCCI may decide to use North Indian locations like Delhi and Jaipur.
Mohali and Dharamsala will not hold games because of border concerns, and Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad will not.
Kolkata, Chennai, and Hyderabad, which now have just one match left, are among the locations that will not host any games when play resumes. This judgement is the result of the board’s determination that moving broadcast equipment for a single fixture is not feasible. Even though the finals were also scheduled to take place in Kolkata, the BCCI has chosen to abandon the plan because of the unpredictability of the weather.
Since Dharamsala and Mohali are close to the border, they have been excluded. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) will now play their final two home games at the Jaipur venue, which the BCCI designated as their new headquarters as a result of this.
