Recent sources state that Prithvi Shaw, an explosive opener for the Delhi Capitals and an Indian, is about to be discharged from his current Indian Premier League (IPL) organization. He’s probably going to be traded to Sunrisers Hyderabad in order to get ready for the 2024 Indian Premier League. Shaw had a brilliant start to his career, but he hasn’t been able to live up to the high expectations set for him, so the team decided to change things up for the upcoming IPL season.

Prithvi Shaw made his IPL debut in 2018 as a Delhi representative, following his outstanding captaincy of India’s U-19 squad to World Cup triumph. Together with bright prospects like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, he led Delhi’s comeback and established a solid foundation for the team. Shaw scored 245 runs in nine games during his rookie season, but it was his striking ability—he had a strike rate of more than 150—that really drew fans in.
Technical errors cost Prithvi Shaw a significant portion of his career.
The Mumbai phenom advanced quickly to the Indian national team and may soon be in charge of the Delhi Capitals. But after the highs of the 2021 season, his luck abruptly declined. Shaw scored 479 runs in that incredible edition while keeping a blistering strike rate of almost 160 and an excellent average of over 31. But throughout the course of the IPL 2023 edition, his technical weaknesses—especially against entering deliveries—came to light, and he was reduced to just 106 runs in 8 innings.
Shaw had to endure the shame of being left out halfway through the competition, a glaring sign of the team’s declining confidence in his ability to produce reliable starts at the top. Even still, Prithvi Shaw is still a highly sought-after prospect, and if the Delhi Capitals decide to let him go, it would undoubtedly lead to a heated bidding war amongst teams hoping to sign this explosive and dynamic opener.
