The all-rounder Nitish Reddy suffered a side strain injury during the January 24 practice at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He is not allowed to play in the current five-match T20I series. In Bengaluru, Reddy will go to the BCCI Centre of Excellence for additional management.
During the first Twenty20 International match against England on January 22, Rinku Singh suffered a low back spasm while fielding. The BCCI medical staff is closely watching him and he is making good progress. In the current five-match T20I series, he will not play in the second or third game.
The Senior Selection Committee has added Ramandeep Singh and Shivam Dube to the team. Following their respective appearances in Round 6 of the Ranji Trophy 2024–25, Dube and Ramandeep will both enter the Indian dressing room.
In the match against Jammu & Kashmir, which the home team lost by a lopsided margin, Dube played for Mumbai. However, Ramandeep was unable to help the Punjab squad avoid a humiliating defeat to Karnataka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After Day 3’s conclusion of both games, the all-rounder pair will now concentrate on wearing the national colors for the rest of the series.
