In the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024), the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recorded the joint-highest successful run chase in the tournament’s history in Match 31 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The match was another high-scoring thriller. Sunil Narine and Jos Buttler both scored hundreds in the match, making it just the fourth time in IPL history that players from both sides have done so.
Rinku Singh’s shot on the third ball of his inning stood out from the others on a day when balls were hitting the boundary with nearly every delivery. He executed a perfect combination of power, intellect, and precision.
With KKR at 184/4 after 16.1 overs, the southpaw was called in to bat and provide a flawless end to their innings. Rinku did not lose much time as he started to take on the bowling on the third ball itself. In the 19th over of the innings, he played a creative stroke against Avesh Khan.

Khan produced a decent-length delivery to the stumps with a crowded leg-side field as he raced in to deliver the second ball of the over. But Rinku had good sense as he shifted to his right to clear space for himself. The ball crashed into the advertising hoardings for a six, and he unleashed a massive whack on the delivery over deep extra cover. Rinku showed the world his exceptional game awareness and shot-making prowess with his incredible stroke.
