Rishabh Pant, an India wicketkeeper-batsman, is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru following multiple injuries sustained in a near-fatal accident in December 2022. Since then, the regular captain of the Delhi Capitals has not played competitive cricket.
After his injury, Rishabh Pant was observed walking without crutches for the first time recently. He was also observed enjoying himself by playing table tennis at the NCA. On Tuesday, May 8th, the cricketer interacted with camp participants from the NCA’s Under-16 cricket program.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to share photos of a cricketer seen interacting with under-16 players. “The lads participating in the Under-16 high-performance camp at NCA Bangalore had the opportunity to engage in conversation with Rishabh Pant about cricket, life, and much more. It was very kind of @RishabhPant17 to interact with these young lads,” BCCI wrote in the post’s caption.
The David Warner-led Delhi Capitals have had a disappointing season thus far, as they presently hold the fewest points in the IPL 2023 standings. On May 8, they defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by seven wickets in their previous match in Delhi. They cannot afford to lose any more games at this point. On May 10, DC will face the four-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
