Abhishek Sharma maintained his impressive form in the present Asia Cup, hitting 75 off 37 deliveries against Bangladesh in the Super Fours’ fourth match. On Wednesday, September 24, a large crowd gathered at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, hoping to see some exciting cricket. Abhishek wowed the crowd with his sensational batting in the first innings.
The Punjab batsman hit six fours and five sixes throughout his innings. He had raced to 75 in 11 overs and appeared to be on track to score the Asia Cup’s maiden century.
However, he was eliminated in the 12th over by Rishad Hossain’s stunning backward point fielding.
Suryakumar Yadav sliced the opening ball of the 12th over, bowled by Mustafizur Rahman, to the left of backward point. However, Rishad Hossain planned effectively and executed a dive to halt a specific boundary. He got the ball under control on his first effort and threw it to the non-striker’s end. Mustafizur did well to return in time to force the run out, after Abhishek failed to return to his crease after being ordered back by his skipper.
