In the RR vs. PBKS IPL 2025 match, Riyan Parag lit up Mullanpur by smashing MS Dhoni’s signature helicopter shot. With three fours and sixes along with an undefeated 43*(25), the right-handed batter helped RR end the match against PBKS. He, Shimron Hetmyer, and Dhruv Jurel were instrumental in accelerating RR in the final overs.
The right-handed batter was the target of a yorker attempt by Marco Jansen. But the ball ended up being broader and fuller than the pads because he missed the length severely.
Not wasting the opportunity, Riyan Parag hammered a helicopter shot over the deep fine leg to score six runs.

The finish by Parag helped RR. In 14.4 overs, they were 138/3 following Nitish Rana’s dismissal. With one wicket lost, RR amassed 67 runs in the final 32 balls. He was assisted by Hetmyer and Jurel, who each scored 20 runs in 12 balls and an undefeated 13*(5) to help RR reach 205/4.

Since they had a strong end to their innings, RR had the advantage. In the powerplay overs, the original champions carried on the tradition by taking wickets for fun. Jofra Archer expelled Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer in the opening over of the game.
Marcus Stoinis was sent back to the pavilion by Sandeep Sharma, bringing PBKS down to 26/3 in 3.3 overs. By the time Kumar Kartikeya removed Prabhsimran Singh, PBKS had reached 43/4 after 6.2 overs. By that time in the match, RR was ahead.
However, a vital 88-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell saved the home team’s innings. Wadhera made a significant contribution to the partnership, scoring 62(41), which featured three sixes and four fours. Maxwell scored 30(21), including a six and three fours. After 15.1 overs, their dismissals caused PBKS to drop to 131/6.
