Riyan Parag on pressures of leading RR in IPL 2025 -‘I have not really faced any trouble’

After losing both his first and second IPL matches as captain, young stand-in captain Riyan Parag is under a lot of strain. He claims that having seniors like Sanju Samson and Rahul Dravid around has greatly benefited him.

The 23-year-old all-rounder has revealed how much his seniors, Rahul Dravid and Sanju Samson, have assisted him in managing the squad or in communicating before games, despite the fact that some may believe he is under a lot of pressure. Additionally, Parag discussed the significance of the middle-order batters’ performances in the first game of their campaign and expressed his pride in them.

“Not at all. Everyone here is a professional, in my opinion. When a new leader takes over, everyone is aware of what to do. Rahul Dravid and Sanju [Samson] Bhai have both been incredibly supportive. During the pre-game press conference, Parag stated, “I haven’t really had any problems putting the team together or getting people on the same page.”

The middle order, in my opinion, is always the foundation of any batting order. We won’t be giving 280 every game this season, so I think it’s a huge bonus that guys stepped up and batted like they did, regardless of the outcome. We’ll need them most for the 180, 140, and 150 games that are scheduled,” Parag continued.

The Rajasthan Royals were handed the nearly impossible task of chasing down the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 286-run total in their most recent game. The middle order batsmen Dhruv Jurel (70 off 35), Shimron Hetmyer (42 off 23), and Shubham Dubey (34 off 11) * helped the Royals still manage to score 242 while chasing.
