Misbah sustained a leg injury and was obviously in pain as Pakistan’s innings went on. After making 18 off of 15 balls, the 50-year-old veteran was forced to retire injured. Uthappa abandoned his wicketkeeping responsibilities at that same moment to rush to Misbah’s assistance.
Misbah was hobbling off the pitch when Uthappa gave him his shoulder. On social media, Uthappa’s deed of compassion went viral right once, receiving praise from supporters in both countries. A video of the incident was posted by FanCode, the official broadcaster, with the title “Spirit of Cricket.”

It was an amazing confrontation, as the match turned out. Pakistan scored a challenging 156/6, driven by fast bowler Sohail Tanvir’s 19 off 9 and captain Shoaib Malik’s 41 off 36 balls. Ambati Rayudu scored a scorching half-century during India’s thrilling chase.

Yusuf Pathan’s aggressive cameo of 30 off 16 balls turned the tide of the match in India’s favour, setting up an exciting finish. With five wickets to spare, the Indian team sealed the victory with a boundary hit by Irfan Pathan on the opening delivery of the last over.
