Rohit Sharma’s leadership abilities have been praised by Yuvraj Singh, who believes that the iconic opening batsman is the ideal choice to lead India to a successful T20 World Cup 2024 campaign starting next month.
As the ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2024, Yuvraj is now promoting the upcoming major event in the United States. Recently, he brought the T20 World Cup trophy to The Miami Grand Prix. The legendary cricket player was instrumental in India’s victories in the 2007 and 2011 ODI and T20 World Cups.
Under the motivating guidance of his former teammate Rohit, Yuvraj is optimistic that the Men in Blue can break their winning streak at the T20 World Cup this year. The Men in Blue have not won an ICC (International Cricket Council) event since 2013.
“(Rohit’s attendance will be extremely important). We truly need a competent captain who can make sound decisions even under duress, in my opinion. And he’s the one who should take them,” Yuvraj, the ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2024, stated in an ICC interview.
“He was our captain in the 2023 Cricket World Cup 50-over final defeat.” As captain, he has five IPL trophies to his name. The 42-year-old continued, “I think we need someone like him to captain India.
Despite his increasing success, Rohit Sharma has remained the same person: Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj and Rohit were members of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup. They had a terrific connection and shared the Indian dressing room for numerous years. It seemed appropriate that Yuvraj spent his final Indian Premier League (IPL) season with the Mumbai Indians in 2019 while playing for Rohit.
Even though the 37-year-old experienced amazing success in his cricket career, Yuvraj praised him for maintaining his humility. The former called Rohit one of his best friends and claimed that he was deserving of the medal and the World Cup victory.

Very awful English, Yuvraj remarked in jest. “Very funny guy. We often pick on him from the streets of Borivali (in Mumbai). But in his heart, a nice guy.
“He has remained the same person no matter how much success he has had. That is Rohit Sharma’s attractiveness. One of my best friends from cricket and a fantastic leader in the park, he is constantly having a good time with the boys. I would really like to see Rohit Sharma walking away with a medal and a trophy from the World Cup. He truly is deserving,” he continued.
