On Sunday, March 9, India defeated New Zealand in the final in Dubai to win the Champions Trophy 2025. Celebrations erupted in the stadium and throughout India. Finally, the athletes also made the most of the moment. Along with other players, captain Rohit Sharma cut a cake to celebrate the win in the joyous dressing room. Virat Kohli and the rest of the team made sure everyone had a piece, smearing the icing on each other’s faces.
The BCCI-shared video showed players hugging, signing one other’s T-shirts, and reliving their success in an unadulterated joyous dressing room. One could also see in the video that Shubman Gill’s father, overcome with pride, rushed onto the pitch and gave his son a hug. Later, he joined Arshdeep Singh and Rishabh Pant in celebrating India’s victory by breaking a leg, demonstrating his pleasure. The strong emotional bond that underpinned the athletes’ success was evident in the endearing companionship between them and their families.
In the meanwhile, a fortunate fan was able to capture images of Ravindra Jadeja and his family, preserving a moment spent with the well-known all-rounder. As they looked back on the arduous path that brought them this victory, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma shared their own private memories. A fan cherished the moment when KL Rahul was seen signing a T-shirt for them in the middle of the mayhem.
Beyond the cricket pitch, Indian captain Rohit Sharma captured the spirit of this victory by gathering his wife and daughter for a unique family photo.
Virat Kohli blessed Mohammed Shami’s mother and posed for photos with her in a lovely gesture.

After winning the Champions Trophy jointly in 2002 and outright in 2013, this was India’s third Champions Trophy triumph. India lost the corresponding final match both times they were near to winning the trophy, against Pakistan in 2017 and New Zealand in 2000.
