Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s viral workout video has gone viral, with fans astonished by his much slimmer appearance ahead of the upcoming India-New Zealand one-day international series. As India prepares for the three-match series beginning January 11 in Vadodara, Rohit’s turnaround has once again captured everyone’s attention.
The experienced hitter will be back in action when India begins a three-match ODI series against New Zealand on Sunday. Rohit came in Vadodara before the first ODI and is anticipated to play an important role alongside Virat Kohli. Rohit resigned from Test cricket in May of last year and is now solely focused on white-ball cricket, mainly ODIs.
The viral video depicts Rohit Sharma batting in the nets, looking sharper and fitter than ever.
Several admirers stated that he looks “barely recognisable,” with some suggesting he was “thinner than Kohli.” Furthermore, Rohit was spotted wearing a new helmet during the workout.

One moment from the video showed Rohit stepping into a delivery and smashing a straight six down the ground. Fans also flocked to the MCA Ground in Mumbai to catch a glimpse of Rohit Sharma training. During the same training session, a funny incident saw a fan offer Rohit a vada pav. Rohit smiled and declined the offer.
Last year was memorable for the Nagpur-born as he led India to the ICC Champions Trophy, scoring a match-winning 76 in the final. He became the top-ranked ODI batter in ICC rankings for the first time, the third-highest ODI run-scorer for India, and the fourth Indian to complete 20,000 international runs. He also surpassed Shahid Afridi’s long-standing record for most sixes in ODIs and ended the year with 650 runs in 14 innings at an average of 50.
