On the balcony of a mezzanine floor of a high-rise in Dubai, Rohit Sharma and Jay Shah, the head of the International Cricket Council (ICC), were recently seen holding the Champions Trophy 2025 and T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. Following his team’s victory over New Zealand in the ODI competition final on Sunday, March 9, the Indian captain won the latter.
The global cricketing administrative body’s official X feed posted a brief video of Rohit and Shah posing together and enjoying a picture with the two trophies.

The post-match presentation of the Champions Trophy 2025 summit encounter was attended by the previous secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). With six deliveries remaining, India prevailed by a margin of four wickets in the fiercely contested match. After defeating New Zealand by 44 runs in the 19-day tournament’s group stage, this was the Men in Blue’s second victory of the competition.
In Indian cricket history, Rohit Sharma Etchs is a legendary figure.
Following an undefeated Champions Trophy 2025 and T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit defeated MS Dhoni to become the first Indian skipper to win two ICC titles without dropping a single match. India have won the Champions Trophy in 2013, the T20 World Cup in 2007, and the Cricket World Cup in 2011. But in the first two editions, India each lost a match.
Rohit, on the other hand, had an impeccable path to success. With the exception of the match against Canada, which was called off owing to the constant rain, India won every match at the T20 World Cup last year. Prior to the just ended Champions Trophy final, India won all four of its matches.
