In the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand, Rohit Sharma fell short of his potential. For the first time in an ODI series played at home, the Kiwis defeated the Men in Blue. At a strike rate of 76.25 and an average of 20.33, Rohit was only able to score 61 runs in the three games.
Simon Doull, a former pacer for New Zealand, questioned if the renowned batter would be motivated to play till the T20 World Cup.

Doull further said that because the former captain of India has already retired from Test and Twenty20 Internationals, he may not see much action at the international level before the 50-over World Cup. The next ODI for India is scheduled for June.

Rohit Sharma did well in the tour of Australia last year, finishing as the top run scorer despite his shaky performance against New Zealand.
He also performed admirably against South Africa at home in the next series. Throughout the three games, the Nagpur native scored 146 runs at an average of 48.67.
As the second-highest run scorer in history, Rohit will now try to play a significant part for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
