In the 37th game of the current ODI World Cup 2023, South Africa and India squared off. On Sunday, November 5, both teams took center stage at the renowned Eden Gardens, where the Men in Blue maintained their unbeaten streak by defeating the Proteas by an astounding 243 runs. Following the victory over South Africa, players eagerly anticipated the announcement of the best fielder of the match. The prestigious medal was up for grabs, with players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja among the competitors. In another unusual twist, the winner was revealed via a buggy.
The camera car pulled to a stop in between the competitors, then switched to focus on the winner—Indian captain Rohit Sharma—at the end.
After Rohit is proclaimed the victor, the players are shown in a video released by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) rejoicing and embracing.
“Disclosure: This film was not produced with any “Bugs” injured. We had a new competitor and a new winner in the City of Joy. Can you guess who they are? The post had a caption from the BCCI.

India overcame the Proteas challenge thanks to Virat Kohli’s brilliance.
In any case, Rohit Sharma explosive performance helped the Indian team get off to a strong start when they chose to bat first in the match. Still, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer’s combination shaped the game.
Iyer made 77 off 87 deliveries, while Kohli struck an undefeated 101 off 121 deliveries. In addition, India scored 326 runs in the first innings, with notable contributions coming from Ravindra Jadeja and Suryakumar Yadav in the later half of the century.
Once again, the Indian squad displayed outstanding ball handling skills while attempting to defend the target. Ravindra Jadeja took the most wickets with five, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav each took two, and Mohammed Siraj took one, all of which contributed to South Africa’s dismissal for just 83 runs.
