Every team has played at least one game so far in the IPL 2023. This has given us a look at their strengths and weaknesses so far. All ten teams in the IPL have shown what their game plans and strategies will be for the most important competition. The elite commentators on Star Sports, which is the official IPL TV broadcaster, have picked the teams that are going to finish at the top. They did this by watching all of the franchises’ first games and looking at the early trends.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who both won their first games easily and did well in all areas, look like tough teams to beat, and early predictions from experts have backed these two teams to make it to the playoff stage.
David Hussey, a former Australian all-rounder, told Star Sports, the official IPL TV network, that both RR and LSG want to be the top two teams at the end of the league stage.
Jacques Kallis, a former IPL player from South Africa who also coached KKR in the past, said, “I think RR and DC have what it takes to be the top two teams in IPL 2023.”
Daren Ganga, who used to play for the West Indies, picked RCB and GT as the top two teams. Ganga said, “I think RCB and GT will be the top two teams at the end of this season.”
Tom Moody, who used to play for Australia, thinks that RR and LSG will be the top two teams at the end of the league stage. “It’s still early, but it looks like LSG and RR are the teams to beat. Moody said, “They can be the top two teams in the group stage.”
Aaron Finch, the captain of Australia’s team that won the T20 World Cup, thinks that the top teams from the last IPL season will do well again. “I think the top two teams will be the Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. “Once again, they look like very strong teams,” said Finch.
Sreesanth, a former India pacer, thinks that LSG and RCB have what it takes to finish first and second in the team standings. “I’m going to bet on LSG and RCB to finish the league stage in first and second place,” Sreesanth said.
Deep Dasgupta, a former wicketkeeper and batter for India, told Star Sports, which is the official TV station for the IPL, that RCB and GT could be the top two teams in the IPL.
Sanjay Manjrekar, who used to play for India, thinks that RR and RCB will be the top two teams when the league stage is over. “Sanju Samson’s Royals and Faf du Plessis’s Royal Challengers look like great teams. “They can come in first or second,” Manjrekar said.
Sandeep Patil, who used to play cricket for India and be the chairman of selectors, thinks that GT and RCB will come out on top. “The top two teams in the IPL will be RCB and GT,” Patil said.
Mithali Raj, who used to play for India, thinks that LSG and RR have what it takes to be the top two teams. “Lucknow and Rajasthan look like they’re going to be very strong teams. “They can win first place,” Mithali said.
Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, agreed with what Sanjay Manjrekar said and also picked RR and RCB as the favorites. “Both Bangalore and Rajasthan got off to a good start and looked very balanced. “In the league stage, they should finish in the top two,” Pathan said.
Mohammed Kaif, who used to play cricket for India, thinks that RCB and LSG will finish first and second. “The top two teams will be Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore,” said Kaif.
