In Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals defeated the Gujarat Titans ( GT) in a thrilling match thanks to a spectacular performance by young emerging star batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed the fastest-ever IPL century in just 35 balls. They ended a five-match losing streak and maintained their IPL 2025 playoff chances by chasing 210 and going home in just 15.5 overs.
With seven fours and eleven sixes in his innings, Suryavanshi not only became the youngest centuryurion in T20 history, but he also achieved the quickest fifty of the 2025 IPL off just 17 balls. In one over, the teenager scored 30 runs off rookie Karim Janat and 28 runs off Ishant Sharma as he tore into the Titans’ bowling attack. After he finally hit 101 off of 38 balls, his colleagues gave him a standing ovation and embraced him as he left.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who finished undefeated at 70 from 40 balls, was the ideal supporting player. Before being asked to bat first, the Gujarat Titans scored 209/4, with captain Shubman Gill leading the way with an 84 and Jos Buttler contributing an undefeated 50.

Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scripted history by becoming the youngest-ever centurion in the history of the league and men’s T20 cricket. Suryavanshi hammered a breathtaking 101 off just 38 balls in only his third IPL game, taking RR to a memorable win.
The southpaw reached his hundred in just 35 balls, the second-fastest IPL century ever, behind only Chris Gayle’s 30-ball ton in 2013. He smashed 11 sixes and seven fours, with 94 of his runs coming in boundaries. Notably, he brought up his milestone with a pulled six off Rashid Khan. Earlier, Suryavanshi also became the youngest player to score a fifty in IPL history, reaching the feat in just 17 balls.
2. Jaiswal holds on to one end firmly

While Suryavanshi grabbed the headlines, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s contribution was not far behind. The left-hand batter remained unbeaten on 70 off 40 deliveries, hammering nine boundaries and two sixes. He made sure to use his experience and play second fiddle while his junior teammate was hitting the GT bowlers all over the ground. The duo’s 166-run opening stand took the game away from Gujarat.
3. Gill-Buttler’s efforts go in vain
Shubman Gill – what a phenomenal talent. He’s truly shaping up to be an IPL legend in the making.

In the first innings, GT batters too had a good day, especially skipper Shubman Gill (84) and Jos Buttler (50*). The duo unsettled the RR bowlers and kept the scoring rate ticking despite wickets falling. Gujarat, which at one point looked set to finish at 250, was restricted to 209 due to the regular fall of wickets.
